More than just the co-founders of Koko FitClub, Mary Obana and Michael Lannon are a busy married couple with a family and a real-life. They created Koko as a solution to their own real-life workout needs: a fast, simple and effective workout that fits easily into everyday life.
The creation of Koko began the day our son was born…I just didn’t know it at the time.
Being a new mom brought excitement, (exhaustion!) and…a body that didn’t feel like my own – or at least I didn’t want to be my own. I was really looking forward to getting my body back. Unfortunately, "my body" seemed to have a mind of its own.
I started running, but the weight wasn’t coming off like it used to. I wanted to join a gym, but I didn’t really know where to start. And I didn’t have the time to spend hours exercising or the money to hire a personal trainer.
What I needed most of all was a plan. Not just a plan to read or follow, but a new way to workout that had all been figured out ahead of time and was just for me. I wanted it to be fast and I wanted it to work. That’s how the idea for Koko was born.
With Koko, whatever exercise I’m doing, I know it’s right. I know it’s safe. And I know it’s all part of a personal plan that gives me the greatest results for my time. For me, the results have been better than I ever imagined. In fact, not only did I donate all my maternity clothes, but I recently gave away all my pre-baby clothes as well. My pre-pregnancy body was a size 8, and with Koko, I’m now a steady size 4! I spend less time working out than I used to, but I am stronger and fitter than I have ever been in my life. And all I do is Koko.

I guess I’m a typical guy when it comes to exercise. I’m pretty comfortable in a gym so I don’t really need someone to show me what to do.
My problem was getting there. Consistently. And the older I got, the harder it was to squeeze in the hour and half it took for a workout. You can guess where my story goes from here.
My wake up call came when I saw 205 on the scale for the first time, right about the time when I crossed over into that dreaded land of “bigger pants”. Ugh!
Now, with Koko, I’m in better shape than I’ve been since my twenties. It’s because Koko is something I can always make time for. Consistently. Thirty minutes, in and out, total body conditioning…and all on my schedule. It works. Plus, Koko pushes me harder and works my entire body more effectively than I ever could on my own. And because no two workouts are the same, I never hit a plateau where I’m not seeing progress – I’m constantly challenged and never bored.
Now that I’m a Koko convert, I am amazed to see how much time people waste exercising on their own: Wandering around between machines. Doing the same old exercises the same old way every day. Hanging out and chatting. I just don’t have the time for that anymore.
The bottom line for me is that Koko is simply a better workout and a more efficient way to spend my time.
